Fosamax® Litigation

Jackson Mississippi Fosamax® Litigation Attorneys

Questionnaire

Based in Jackson, Mississippi, the Fosamax ® litigation attorneys at Gill, Ladner & Priest, PLLC represent clients nationwide who have been adversely affected by pharmaceutical drugs, including Fosamax® and other bisphosphonate drugs.

What You Need to Know About Fosamax and Other Bisphosphonate Drugs

In recent years, Fosamax®, a bisphosphonate drug produced by Merck to treat osteoporosis (including menopausal osteoporosis) as well as cancer, has been a popularly prescribed drug. Unfortunately, bisphosphonate drugs (including not only Fosamax®, but also Aredia®, Zometa® and Actonel®) have been known to cause bone loss, severe bone pain, or bone decay.

Dead Jaw

These adverse affects are more prevalent in the jaw, especially after a tooth extraction or tooth surgery. The medical term for this bone loss or bone death is Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (ONJ), but it is commonly referred to as "dead jaw".

Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (ONJ or Dead Jaw) can manifest itself as a dull pain, a toothache or jaw pain that doesn't go away, an infection, or extreme pain and discomfort in the jaw. If you experience any of these symptoms after tooth surgery or a tooth extraction, you should consult you doctor or dentist. You should also mention you are taking a bisphosphonate drug, such as Fosamax®.

In addition, you should contact an experienced pharmaceutical litigation lawyer to determine if you can be compensated for the medical expenses, pain, suffering, special needs, and any permanent damage.
